Getting to the IBCC

The IBCC is located 2.6 miles to the south of the centre of Lincoln and is close to the villages of Canwick and Bracebridge Heath.

By Car

Access to the site is from Canwick Avenue B1131, (opposite a Premier Inn and Beefeater Restaurant).

Trains

Services run into Lincoln Central station which is a 20-minute walk or 10-minute taxi journey from the site.

Bus Routes

Stagecoach operates the 31 and 31x services from Lincoln’s Transport Hub to Sleaford which stop on Canwick Hill. These do not run at weekends. For timetables please visit http://www.stagecoachbus.com

Please see the map below for bus stops. There is a pedestrian entrance on the B1188 opposite the Canwick Hill stop. Please do take care when crossing, as the road is busy.

There is a taxi rank at Lincoln Transport Hub. It costs in the region of £5 depending on the time of day.

Please be aware that the City is currently seeing a high level of demand for taxis and, as a result, waits are long. We advise you to book your taxis, for both arrival and return, in advance.

Pedestrians

There are two pedestrian entrances – one from the Viking Way and one from the Bus stop on Canwick Hill. If you are planning to walk from the City you should allow 20-30 minutes. Please be aware that the Viking Way entrance can be slippery when wet and there is no tarmac path linking it to the Canwick Hill pavement. This gate is closed between the beginning of November to the end of February. If you do need access during this period, please call 01522 514755.

Cyclists

Access to the site is via the main entrance or from the Pedestrian access on Canwick Hill (there are some shallow steps here). Cycle racks are provided at the front of the building. We have a puncture repair kit at Reception, should the need arise.
