Miscellaneous Information
George was born on 14 February 1921 at East Royalty, Prince Edward Island. His father was born in Brookfield, PEI and worked as a farmer and his mother was born in Marshfield, PEI. The schools he went to were Central Royalty 1927-1936, (Grade 10). Prince of Wales 1936-1937 (Academic). For sport he played a little hockey and also swimming. Until enlisting, George worked for his father on their farm as a dairyman in East Royalty. 1937-1940. |
George enlisted on 9 December 1940 and after initial training embarked from Canada for the U.K. on 23 October 1941 arriving at 3PRC on 4 November 1941. He then travelled on to 19 OTU arriving on 23 December 1941. Sadly on 24 March 1942, George lost his life from here. |
