Miscellaneous Information
Joseph was born 16 March 1923 at Knowlton, Quebec. His father, a baker, was born in Quebec and his mother at Coaticook. They later lived at Drummondville, Quebec (1934 onward). He was the fifth of fifteen children, eleven of whom had survived; his mother died in 1937. He attended Drummond Public school and a further two years at high school. The sports he played were skating, baseball and football. He worked as a labourer at the Celanese factory between 1939-1940 and he enlisted on 27 June 1941 at Montreal. |
After training he embarked from Halifax on 14 December 1943, arriving at 3 RCAF (PRC) on 22 December 1943. He was then at 6(0)AFU on 8 February 1944 and 24 OTU on 21 March 1944. Sadly Joseph lost his life the following month on 23 May 1944. |
