Carol Marsh

My father, Basil Harrington, served in Bomber Command in WWII and in the RAF for 40 years. This shaped my childhood as I grew up on operational RAF stations, and ensured my love of aviation. My working life included 11 years with BA (then BEA) and 15 years working for an aviation parts company based at Biggin Hill, where I live close to the former RAF station, now a civil airport. I have always felt that the sacrifices and experiences of all Bomber Command Veterans have never been properly acknowledged or recorded, and for that reason I have volunteered to help collect, collate and preserve the memories and life stories of a remarkable group of men and women before it is too late to do so.
