Alan Pinchbeck

I first became involved with the Lincolnshire Bomber Command Memorial after hearing Dave Gilbert on the radio asking for volunteers to help with the database of crews lost while flying from Lincolnshire airbases. As soon as I started on my list I became fascinated with the amount of information there was to be gathered. I soon found myself on an amazing learning curve finding out about major CWGC sites, memorials, OTUs etc. I have no connection with the RAF except being born and raised in Bomber County and having a keen interest in aviation heritage. I spent a lot of time in 2014 following ‘Vera’ around the country and also developed an interest in aviation photography. I am very pleased we are at long last getting a memorial in the county for the great sacrifice made for our freedom and look forward to being involved in other aspects of the project.
